About this design

The design is anchored by a tightly woven eight-point star at its core, from which successive rings of curved arabesques, lancet leaves, and stylised palmettes expand outward in perfect radial symmetry. Each layer introduces finer floral detailing — small rosettes, split-leaf scrolls, and feathered petals — creating a sense of depth and movement without breaking the overall geometric discipline. The outermost ring resolves into pointed lobed cartouches that echo the star geometry, giving the medallion a crisp, self-contained silhouette.

This medallion format is ideally suited to main prayer halls where a single large-format carpet anchors the congregational space, as well as to mihrab wall placements where the star's directional symmetry reinforces the qibla axis. Its intricate but balanced structure also works well in domed antechambers and VIP reception areas within mosque complexes.
