Selçuk Rosette — Layered Arabesque Center-Medallion

About this design

The design is anchored by a tight six-petal rosette at its absolute centre, each petal filled with interlocking rumi scrollwork. Two concentric circular bands — one slim and one broad — frame the rosette, separating it from a wide intermediate ring of flowing arabesques and split-leaf palmettes arranged in perfect eight-fold symmetry.

The outermost corona dissolves into a pointed, scalloped edge formed by overlapping lotus-tip finials and dense cloud-scroll tendrils, giving the medallion a sunburst silhouette. The repeat structure is a single centred medallion intended for panel-cut production; it tiles naturally on large-format mosque rolls where each prayer position receives its own medallion axis.

This design is ideally suited to main-hall installations and mihrab-wall feature panels in mid-to-large congregational mosques. The bold radial geometry reads clearly at distance, making it equally effective in high-ceilinged Ottoman-revival interiors and contemporary minimalist prayer halls. Importers should note that the panel-cut layout minimises waste on standard 4 m loom widths, and the design is available EN 13501-1 certified on request.
