Ottoman Rosette Medallion — Twelve-Petal Floral Radial
A bold twelve-fold radial medallion built from layered peony rosettes and interlocking cloud-scroll arabesques, evoking classic Ottoman Iznik tile artistry.
About this design
The design is anchored by a central star-rosette from which twelve lobed petal cartouches radiate in perfect symmetry. Each cartouche encloses a densely layered peony or lotus bloom with concentric petal rings and a star-point centre, while sinuous rumi scrolls and cloud-collar (bulut) tendrils weave between the cartouches to form a continuous interlaced ground. The overall silhouette resolves into a scalloped dodecagonal outline edged with fine arabesque vine, giving the medallion a self-contained, jewel-like presence.
This pattern is ideally suited to main prayer-hall floors where a single dominant medallion anchors the qibla axis, and equally effective on mihrab-wall accent carpets where its radial symmetry draws the eye forward. The tight repeat structure also allows the motif to be tiled in a saff layout for larger congregational spaces without visual fragmentation.
Available in ten colorways; minimum order per colorway is 200 m². The design is woven on a heat-set polypropylene pile construction meeting EN 13501-1 fire classification requirements, making it suitable for importers serving markets with strict public-building safety codes.
