Radiant Petal Medallion – Layered Arabesque Rosette Design

About this design

The design is anchored by a large circular medallion composed of three concentric zones. The outermost zone features a continuous braided rope border enclosing a ring of interlocking arabesque scrollwork. Within it, sixteen elongated ogival petals radiate outward from a central hub, each petal filled with a dense micro-arabesque lattice that creates a rich textural contrast against the smooth petal outlines.

The inner ring presents a bold sixteen-point starburst formed by stylised floral and leaf forms, framing a compact central rosette filled with interlaced scrolling stems and a single flower head at its core. The entire composition is strictly radially symmetrical, making it ideal as a statement centrepiece for main prayer halls, beneath a central dome, or as a feature panel on a mihrab wall carpet. Its strong circular geometry also reads well when repeated at interval spacing across large-format broadloom layouts.
