Rumi Scroll Border — Plain-Field Saff Strip
A serene plain field anchored by a continuous arabesque scroll border. Flowing rumi tendrils and star accents create an elegant horizontal rhythm ideal for saff layouts.
About this design
The field is a smooth, uninterrupted plain weave that draws the eye toward the single dominant border band positioned at the lower edge. That border carries a classic rumi arabesque: paired spiral tendrils interlock in a continuous S-scroll rhythm, punctuated at regular intervals by small four-pointed star rosettes. The repeat is strictly horizontal, making strip-to-strip alignment effortless during installation.
This design is particularly well suited to main prayer halls where a calm, distraction-free field supports congregation focus, and to long corridor runs where the bold scroll border provides directional guidance. The plain field also complements more ornate mihrab-wall carpets when used as flanking saff strips.
Available in roll widths standard for saff production; the border is woven as an integral part of the pile, eliminating any need for secondary edging. Importers should note that the design tiles seamlessly across multiple rolls, and the plain field minimises visible seam lines in large-area installations. Compliant with EN 13501-1 fire classification requirements.
