Arabesque Border Strip — Flowing Interlace on Plain Field
A serene plain field anchored by a continuous arabesque interlace border strip, blending classical Ottoman motifs with clean, uncluttered prayer-row geometry.
About this design
The design pairs a broad, unadorned field with a single bold border band running along the lower edge. The border features a rhythmically repeating arabesque interlace — stylised split-leaf and tulip-head forms locked into a continuous flowing vine — framed above and below by narrow guard stripes with a fine geometric fret.
The plain field maximises visual calm in main prayer halls, directing the eye toward the qibla wall without distraction. The ornate border strip provides enough decorative presence to suit mihrab-wall installations and wide corridor runners, where a single strong horizontal accent reads well at floor level.
For importers: the strip-repeat structure allows straightforward roll-to-roll production in standard saff widths (typically 1 m, 1.5 m, and custom), with the border always positioned at the leading edge. Pattern matching across adjacent rolls is minimal, reducing installation waste.
